Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Treatment methods:
- Chinese Medication
Oral herbal medicine can be prescribed to relieve your symptoms and discomfort. These herbal medications come in capsule, tablet or powdered form for easy consumption. - Acupuncture
According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health and wellness is linked to the movements of the body’s energy, known as Qi, moving smoothly through a series of meridians (channels) beneath the skin. When the flow of Qi is blocked or unbalanced, illness may result. A long-standing and well-respected form of Chinese medicine treatment, Acupuncture helps to restore the body’s natural balance and stimulate its own healing response. - Child Therapeutic Massage
Similar to Tui Na, child massage therapeutic massage uses a variety of hand techniques to relieve uncomfortable symptoms in children such as flu, sore throat, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, constipation, bloated stomach etc. Child therapeutic massage is also a common form of treatment to promote better health and general well-being for the child. - Cupping
Using the principal of a vacuum, a cup is sucked onto the skin surface to create local congestion in order to treat ailments. This method is often used to treat rheumatism, expulsion of toxins and excess heat. - Scrapping
A TCM tool is used to scrape a patient’s chest, back, neck and other areas. Our physicians will determine if this form of treatment is suitable for you. - Tui Na / Chinese Therapeutic Massage
The Tui Na or Chinese Therapeutic Massage uses a variety of hand techniques to relieve pain and harmonise the flow of Qi and blood throughout the body in order to restore proper function of the anatomy. - Hand and Foot Massage
According to the meridian system of the TCM theory, there are ‘reflex zones’ found on the hands and feet that correspond to the body’s internal organs. In the Hand and Foot Massage, the TCM physician will stimulate the particular points on the patients’ hand or feet in order to relieve symptoms or treat diseases of the respective organs. - Hand and Foot Medicinal Bath
The Hand and Foot Medicinal Bath is a therapeutic method of soaking the patients’ hands and feet in a medicinal bath, and then applying pressure to the reflex zones/points. This therapy uses a solution comprising hot water and Chinese herbs, which is prescribed by the TCM physician after diagnosis. Treatment involves an external application of the herbal medicine to affected areas or via a herbal medicinal bath.
